Emmer, R-Minnesota, has represented Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District since 2014. He sits on the House Financial Services Committee and the Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship & Capital Markets and National Security, International Development & Monetary Policy subcommittees. He also serves as chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Previously, Emmer served for four years in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
