Harrigan is a writer-at-large at Texas Monthly and the author of eleven books, including “The Gates of the Alamo” and, most recently, “Big Wonderful Thing: A History of Texas.” He is also a screenwriter and has written many movies for television. Previously, Harrigan spent 20 years as an instructor in creative writing at the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin.
