Candler founded 4.0 Schools, an incubator of new schools and startups, in 2010. Previously, he helped found NYC Charter Center, the first citywide charter school incubator in the nation, and worked at the KIPP Foundation. Candler first taught in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and later worked as a founding co-principal of a K-8 school in North Carolina.
