Hester is the founding editor-in-chief of The City, a nonprofit news organization that covers New York City. Previously, he served as news director and director of the reporting and writing program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where he established NYCity News Service. Hester has also worked at the New York Daily News, NBC Local Integrated Media and Downtown Express.
