Goldsmith is the Henry L. Shattuck professor of law at Harvard University. Previously, he served as assistant U.S. attorney general and as a legal adviser to the general counsel of the U.S. Department of Defense. He also taught at the University of Chicago Law School and at the University of Virginia Law School. Goldsmith is the author of “In Hoffa's Shadow: A Stepfather, a Disappearance in Detroit, and My Search for the Truth.”
