Salazar is the founder and executive director of Exhibition District, a nonprofit that seeks to make economic opportunities for creatives. She also opened Local Color in downtown San Jose, an initiative that works to turn unused buildings into creative spaces. In 2016, Salazar was selected as a National Arts Strategies creative community fellow.
