Sullivan is the media columnist for The Washington Post. Previously, she served as public editor for The New York Times and chief editor of The Buffalo News. Sullivan was also a member of the Pulitzer Prize board and served as director of the American Society of Newspaper Editors for two terms. She has taught journalism at Columbia University and the City University of New York.
