Tilove has been the chief political writer for the Austin American-Statesman since 2012. Previously, he served as a Washington correspondent for the New Orleans Times Picayune and the Springfield, Massachusetts, newspapers. Tilove was also a national correspondent with Newhouse News Service, where he wrote about race, ethnicity and American identity. He is the author of “Along Martin Luther King: Travels on Black America’s Main Street.”
