Jaymie was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. Her mother is a retired public school teacher and her father just retired as a mechanic. She has an undergraduate and graduate degree in Political Science with a concentration of American Government from UTSA. Jaymie has been employed with UT Health San Antonio since 2006. In 2003, she was the VP for External Affairs for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. One day after 9/11 she interned for United States Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.
